Yeah I know another top 10 list....
I have updated the list as my needs and device have changed, as well as more apps have been added to the google play store.
I know that these lists are very subjective and most likely what one person (author) thinks is a must have.
So I will be adding my top 10, the apps that I think will help improve the usefulness of your new!! or older android smartphone.
Maildroid
Ok the first app in my list is still one from last year (last year it was a free app), Yes you guessed it Maildroid. Now my experience is with the full paid version and in my honest opinion is well worth the current price of 17.99.

Titanium Backup
I guess having a backup plan for all of our electronics is a must have. From our computers to our music and photo's. So it should go without saying we would want one for our smartphone. Why not get the best!!!

Nova Launcher
Home Screen replacement, for android 4.0 and above. This is a must have and you may not even know why? Let me fill you in, do you find having four icons on the launch bar not enough? How about adding more home screens? or even the ability to add more themes? If you answered yes to any of these then you need Nova Launcher. I have tried a few home replements and as far as I'm concerned Nova Launcher is by far my favorite.

Handcent SMS
Do you like to SMS? Well if you are a big on texting and dont have this, then you might as well stop looking and just install it. Yes it's that good and one of the best default android replcement apps I have used. Go ahead give it a try and let me know what you think.

ES File explorer
When it comes to searching the file system I have tried a few of the apps out there. The one thing that rings true is I always come back to ES File explorer. It works, works well, does more than I need and has built in network sharing that works. So with all this and several add-ons why use anything else? In my opinion this is the best file explorer on the market.

PowerAMP Music Player
What would a smertphone without an awsome media player be? Well just another expensive phone right. The default player in Android just sucks, exspecially if you have flac files or even a collection of avi's. Android just does not like to play them. After many trial and error's I have found this wonderful Music player Power Amp. It play's everything I need and has yet to cause me any issue's. if you want an all in one media player go ahead and give it a try. as this is a paid app you and runs as a trial you can get the trial below with the QR code below.

SoundHound
No big surpirise here, Just a must have to search and find that song you hear and can't remember the name of. My favorite part is the ability to send the results to either Twitter, SMS or a few others. I tend to just send all my finds to Twitter. If available it also shows all the lyrics. I love the app so I use the paid version.

Remote Desktop Client
Have you ever wished you could access your home computer from anywhere in the world? Well I did and then came the part of looking for an app that did this on my Android. Well after trying out a few remote desktop apps, I found Remote Desktop Client. All I can say is wow! it just works and has more settings than a Swiss army knife, From resolution to sound to keyboards. It does it all and does it very well. So if stability and the need to just have it work is what you are after look no further and try Remote Desktop Client by Xtralogic, Inc.

Camera ZOOM FX
Ok so we all now have an expectation that no matter what phone we buy it will have a camera. Now from my experience the hardware developers are not putting too much effort into the camera app it’s self just making sure it has a camera seems to be the norm.
Well no need to worry about this anymore, we now have the best camera app I have ever seen or used on my android phone Camera ZOOM FX. The app has many options to play with and best of all has several add-ons to make taking pictures fun. Plus some of the add-ons can actually make your photos better.

Conclusion
Well the new version of Android has gotten my attention, but just from the specs and look of the Samsung Galaxy S, I mean Nexus S I'm not impressed. I would have thopught Google would have at least made the plastic case a liitle more nicer. I mean look at the options out there, if this is gojng to be Googles flagship why would they not take the asthetics of the hardware into considertation? I know this will upset some die hard samsung fans, but really. Look aluminium is so light and gives such a more sturdy feel to any device. the next thing Google decided to do was to leave out the slot for extra storage, this makes no sense to me what so ever. It's coming close to 2012 and and 16 gigs seems like a step backwards, is this not a full featured device? How much music, pictures and video will this hold? i guess this will not be the device to have for a long trip or a long weekend for the kids where theres no access to replpace content.
Ok I'm done ranting and will leave you with this, Andriod seems like it's moving in the right direction and getting only better, as for thre hardware guess I'll never really know as i will never buy one and unless I we're to get one to review I'll stick with my Iniociall remarks.
Feel free to leave some comments, if you are the proud owner of a new Nexus S and can shed some light on the pluses of this phone please fill me in
So many new apps are coming!!
It has been reported that android just hit 30,000 apps. Yeah i know it's still way behind the iphone, but I do suspect that this number will double by christmas. The way I look at it is you can install an application from bluetooth, usb, download from your phone and more, so it will make other sites pop up as time goes on to sell apps.
Just read an article that even AOL is getting in on the android app business and has developed 2 apps already. ;-) Yeah I know who is still using AOL. L0L
